Measure H is a $6.1 million General Obligation bond for a variety of modernization projects at Junction Elementary and Middle School.
Despite progress from 2016’s Measure A, Junction Elementary's 65-year-old facilities need major upgrades. Many classrooms don’t meet modern educational standards. A local school improvement measure would help update facilities and enhance education.
Over the last several months, with input from staff, teachers, and community leaders, the District has prepared a School Facility Needs Analysis. The Needs Analysis identifies the major repairs and upgrades that need to be made.
The tax rate is estimated at $24 per $100,000 of assessed valuation per year, or about $2 per month. Check your property tax statement for your assessed valuation (not market value).
Classrooms and facilities will deteriorate, diverting funds from instruction to urgent repairs. Major repairs will be delayed and could become more costly.
